Elisabeth-TweeSteden Ziekenhuis (ETZ) is located at three sites in Tilburg and Waalwijk. ETZ is a top clinical teaching hospital and trauma center and the hospital for all residents of the Central Brabant region, but also (far) beyond.
ETZ has been a PQR customer for several years, and recently ETZ made the choice to replace its aging load balancing solution with a Citrix Application Delivery Controller (Citrix ADC). The implementation of the Citrix ADC was done by PQR and Citrix wrote a reference case about this.
Some excerpts from this reference case
Like other healthcare organizations, the ETZ is engaged in a long-term digital transformation. Staff work remotely and mobility facilities are used more often. Therefore, the emphasis is on secure data sharing to enable collaboration. To support this new digital way of working, ETZ must ensure reliable, secure access to critical workplace applications.
“This was the perfect opportunity to take a close look at our load balancing,” said Ludo Verhamme, head of ICT Infrastructure Services at the ETZ. “Our existing load balancing solutions were nearing the end of their support period and because of the merger, we had to do something about it.”
Much of the ETZ’s applications are on-premises, but project manager at the ETZ Dennis Groen says a hybrid future with new cloud-based applications had to be considered:
“We wanted to be flexible, both in the number of applications and in how we manage them.”- Dennis Groen, Project Manager ETZ.
